2019
the beginnings

The Balaton era

Our company's journey began in 2019 with the acquisition of the Kisfaludy Paddle Steamer. This unique vessel, a rebuild of Lake Balaton's first steamship, authentically captures the ambience of the Hungarian Reform Era. Kisfaludy not only provided a nostalgic journey back in time for its passengers but also ensured a genuine sightseeing experience, gracefully cruising the picturesque waters of Lake Balaton until 2023.

2021 - 2022
new paths

THE BUDAPEST ERA

The year 2021 marked remarkable growth for our company as we acquired another business, along with an additional boat in Budapest. The Citadella underwent a complete refurbishment, transforming into a strikingly elegant and modern sightseeing vessel. This substantial expansion opened new horizons for us, and we ventured into a new journey along the majestic Danube. Our first cruise, on January 15, 2022, was a significant milestone and marked the beginning of a new chapter.

navigating change

OUR BUDAPEST FLEET IS BORN

In 2023, recognizing our desire to share Kisfaludy's charm and uniqueness with a wider audience, we seized the opportunity to bring it to Budapest. With two sightseeing ships now navigating the Danube, our fleet was established and our success was overwhelming! Guests cherished the historical charm of Kisfaludy and the modern elegance of Citadella, solidifying Duna Cruises as a prominent player among sightseeing service companies.

2024
Sailing forward

A NEW HISTORICAL BOAT JOINS OUR FLEET

In the summer of 2024, we proudly launched the Hableány Paddle Steamer. This beautiful vessel, originally serving on Lake Balaton before its acquisition, is a rebuild of a historic steamboat originally built by Count Ödön Széchenyi, the son of Count István Széchenyi. Reflecting the elegance of 19th-century maritime innovation, the Hableány enhances our fleet, further solidifying our commitment to providing unique and memorable experiences for our guests.

"Don't take the Dock 11 Boat Tour on Danube it say that it will drive you for 70 minutes and the trip was only 50 minutes"

Where do you find us?

Our boats depart from Dock 10, located at the Pest-side of the Elizabeth Bridge. Upon arrival, look for our signs displaying ‘Dock 10’ and ‘Welcome on Board’.
