The Hableány Paddle Steamer

The sister ship of the Kisfaludy, the Hableány Paddle Steamer also offers an unforgettable experience for those looking to discover Budapest from a ship inspired by the Hungarian Reform Era. The original Hableány was built by Count Ödön Széchenyi, son of Count István Széchenyi, and became one of the highlights of the 1867 Paris World Fair. Among its famous guests were Emperor Napoleon III and Jules Verne, who was partly inspired by Széchenyi Ödön’s historic journey from Budapest to Paris when writing his novel The Danube Pilot.
